10 States for the Middle Class to Thrive and Find Jobs in the USA

in your dream neighborhood? The average annual income for middle-class
households is $35K to $100K. This is approximately two-thirds the median
national family income of $71,900 for fiscal year 2018.
The job report is coming out soon. The economy will show that the majority of
jobs created were low-level jobs. The average salary of low-level jobs is $14 per
hour. The average weekly paycheck for a good solid job market that is producing
high-quality jobs is $793.
Times have changed, and the standard of living for the middle class has dipped
slightly. In 1970, the median income for upper-class households was 2.2 times
more than in middle-class households. Now in 2019, the upper class makes over
2.4 times the income than the middle-income standard.
The middle class is getting squeezed by rapid inflation, high medical bills and
premiums, and increased mortgage interest rates. There are, however, several
states that are making it a lot easier to thrive and find jobs in the middle-income
bracket.
Minnesota
Minnesota may be a little frigid, but it doesn’t stop the state from being a top job
producer. The average household income for jobs near Minnesota is $72,073. It
is the second-highest for household income in the top 10 states in America and
number four overall nationwide. The median home value is $235,400 with the
average homeownership rate at 71.4%.
Wisconsin
Wisconsin produces some of America’s best cheeses. With that being said, the
median home value in Wisconsin is $188,500. The average middle-class income
is $65,149. Since 2014, there has been an increase of 9.12% in the number of
available jobs that pay an average of $30K and $70K per year. For Wisconsin
residents, 46.6% of households are middle class.
Montana
Montana is known for its vast ranches, but it ranks sixth overall for the sheer
number of households that are in the middle class. The median home price is
$249,200, and the median household income is $58,592.
Vermont
The government of Vermont recently ran a campaign encouraging American
citizens to move to the state with a $10K relocation bonus. With that relocation
bonus, you can purchase a beautiful home at the median average price of
$233,100. The homeownership rate is 72.2%. Over 71% of the homes in
Vermont are owner-occupied. The adjusted median household income is
$59,809.
South Dakota
Since oil reserves were found during the fracking exploits, South Dakota has
produced some of the highest-paid oil field jobs in the United States. Due to
some oil field jobs paying over $100K per year, over 48.7% of households are
now in the middle class. The median home value is $171,500 with the median
household income being $62,858.
Indiana
Indiana has one of the lowest median home value rates in the United States of
America. The Hoosier state has an average median home value of $147,300.
Owning a home here is more economical with the annual average income for
middle-class participants being $61,153. State-wide, 47.1% of residents are in
the middle class.
Nebraska
Nebraska is part of the breadbasket of America. The state is a strong producer of
wheat and corn. Thanks in part to such a strong agricultural economy, the
median home value is $161,800. Middle-class households make up 46.4% of the
residents in Nebraska, and the median household income is $65,225.
Iowa
Iowa is a strong agricultural producer in wheat, corn, cattle, and milk.
Advancements in technology and high agricultural growth have led to more than
47% of households situated comfortably in the middle class. The median home
value is $152,000, and the average income is $65,831.
Idaho
Idaho is known for its strong telecommunications industry and low cost of living.
Home values average around $233,100. The middle class makes up 48.8% of
the population with a median income of $59,474.
Utah
Utah has the strongest middle-class economy in the United States of America.
Its diversified economy includes petroleum production, manufacturing, and
information technology. Approximately 47.3% of households belong to the
middle class. The median income is $73,342, and the average home value is
$303,300. Utah has the lowest income inequality in the United States.
Finding jobs and taking out mortgages with reasonable interest rates is a bit
easier in these top 10 states.
